How to edit history in a loan file?

This article discusses how to edit history in a loan file.

CAUTION: Please be advised that making changes directly to a transaction record is not recommended and may create discrepancies throughout the system. You should consider reversing the transaction instead.

To edit loan history information:

  • Click on running Loan Servicing in the left panel of The Mortgage Office®.
  • Click the Loans drop-down.
  • Click All Loans from the menu located on the left of the window.
  • From the All Loans grid, select the loan record you want to modify.

TIP: If the record you want to edit is not visible, use the grid's vertical scroll bar to scroll the contents of the grid up or down, or click FindSearch icon box Find to search for the record by entering your own search criteria. For additional information see How to use find and How to use the data grids.

  • Click edit from the options available on the top panel or double-click on the item to open the loan file.
    • You can also click the history History icon in the top panel to open the loan history without the loan file.
  • In the loan file, click history History from the vertical menu on the left.
  • From the grid, select the record you want to edit.
  • Click edit Edit or double-click the record to open the edit window.

NOTE: Most fields are read-only as those are material facts in the loan history. Keep in mind that changes should not be made to history records that alter material facts. For example: you change the reference number if you realize that the value entered was incorrect. This change coincides with factual information.

    • Edit the information as needed.
    • Click OK OK to save the changes or CANCEL Cancel to abort.
