# Loan Origination Online Portal + Application Setup
## This guide walks through configuring the online application and applicant portal in TMO — the contact information your applicants will see, the statuses that track their application progress, and the default document checklist they upload against.
**Note:** This entire setup is performed by an internal database administrator; applicants never touch these screens directly. Everything configured here, though, is what your external applicants experience once they submit an application and log into the portal — so it's worth keeping in mind how each setting will read from their side.
**Part 1: Online Portal/Application Options**
*Who this is for: Internal database administrators only.*
- In the far left navigation panel click **Online Portal \> Options**.
- Enter the **Publish ID** — this is assigned by TMO and identifies your portal; it isn't something you set yourself.
- Enter the **Publish Name** — this is your company name as it you'd like it to appear to applicants on the portal.
- Enter the **Contact Information** — if you have a specific point of contact your applicants can reach out to with questions about the application or portal, enter their phone number, fax number, and/or email here.
***Note:*** Contact information is not required. If you'd rather not list a specific person, phone number, address, or email, you can leave these fields blank.
- Leave the settings on the right side of the screen alone — those are specific to Loan Servicing, not origination.
- Click **Apply** to save your changes.
**Part 2: Portal Application Status + Default Document Configuration**
**Statuses:**
- In the far left navigation panel, go to **Loan Applications \> Online Applications \> Pending**.
- Click the **hamburger icon**, then click **Application Status**.
- Hover over to the left and click **Manage List**.
- Click the **plus sign (+)** to type in a new status that matches your workflow. Add as many statuses as you need.
- You can also edit, delete, or reorder existing statuses from this same list.
- Click the **cloud/publish icon** to push your changes live. Look for the confirmation message: "Status has been published successfully."
**Documents:**
- From Pending Applications, click the **hamburger icon** again, then click **Manage Default Documents**.
- Click the **plus sign (+)**, then click the dropdown and choose **Custom** to add your own document name to the list.
- Just like with statuses, you can add, edit, delete, and reorder documents on this list.
- Click the **cloud/publish icon** to publish your changes and update any portals going forward.
**Quick Tips**
- **Always publish** (click the cloud icon with the upward arrow)after any change — additions, edits, or deletions won't reach the live portal until you click the cloud icon.
- Contact information on the portal is **optional** — leave it blank if you don't want to list a specific person.
- **Ignore** the settings on the right side of Online Portal Options — those belong to Loan Servicing.
- Statuses and the default document list can be **reordered** any time, not just when first created.
- A publishing error message means it's time to contact your account manager or the TMO support team.
