NOTE: - A **CSV** (comma delimited) file consists of a header record containing a description for each field, followed by one or more vendor records consisting of fields separated by a literal comma. All records must have an identical sequence of fields and each record must be terminated by a line break. - A **TXT** (tab delimited) file consists of a header record containing a description for each field, followed by one or more vendor records consisting of fields separated by a tab-character. All records must have an identical sequence of fields and each record must be terminated by a line break. ### **To import the vendor file:** - Click on ![running](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/TMO%20APP%20Icons/running.png?width=15&height=15&name=running.png) **Loan Servicing** in the left panel of The Mortgage Office®. - Scroll down to **Tasks & Reports** and click on it. - At the bottom of the page, locate **Import: From File.** - Click on ![blank Excel box with X](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/blank%20Excel%20box%20with%20X.png?width=17&height=21&name=blank%20Excel%20box%20with%20X.png) **Vendors**. This will bring up the ![loan import assistant](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/loan%20import%20assistant.png?width=29&height=21&name=loan%20import%20assistant.png) **Import Vendors Assistant**. - You will see the following options:  - **Import Profile.** This file contains a previously created field mapping between available fields and your import file. Enter the full path and file name or use to browse and navigate to the location where the import profile resides and select it. Import profiles can be great time-savers if your import file's format does not change. TIP: The Import Profile is **always** verified and will be rejected if found to be different from the import file. TIP: You may leave this field blank if you are creating a **new** mapping or the first time using this assistant. Once you've created a field mapping you will have a chance to save it. TIP: You may create **any** number of import profiles. - - **File to Import.** Enter the full path and file name or use to browse and navigate to the location where the file resides and select it. From the drop-down menu select the file type that matches the format used in Microsoft Excel to create the file. The choices are **.CSV** and **.TXT**. - Once you've selected a file, double-click on it and press ![NEXT in blue box](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/TMO%20APP%20Icons/NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png?width=72&height=28&name=NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png). - The next page will bring up **Field Mapping**, a grid composed of two columns. - The first column of the grid is **(LOAN FIELD NAME)** is populated with the all the available vendor fields. - Each row of the second column **(MAP TO IMPORT FIELD)** is populated with the field names found in the header record of your import file. - - Use the drop-down list to map each one of your fields to the corresponding vendor field. - For a detailed description of the available fields and their acceptable values read [Field Mappings](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/knowledge/what-are-the-vendor-field-mappings?hsLang=en). - Once you've chosen your fields, click ![NEXT in blue box](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/TMO%20APP%20Icons/NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png?width=72&height=28&name=NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png)for the next dialog box. - You will see the following message: "Congratulations! You've completed all the necessary steps and you're now ready to import the selected file to loan servicing. Please select from the options below and click the **Import Loan Files** button when ready.": - **Create SmartView™** checkbox ![square-check-solid](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Icons/square-check-solid.png?width=15&height=15&name=square-check-solid.png). Select this option to auto-create a SmartView™ populated with the imported vendors. If checked, you must enter a **Display Name** and a **Category** (or use the default values). TIP: Categories are keywords or phrases that help you create logical groups. Click to save the field mappings as a reusable import profile. This step is required before the **Import Loan Files** button is enabled. If any errors are found during the validation process a detailed report will be generated. A total of x (out of x) vendor records were successfully imported. You must review these records carefully and make any necessary changes before you enter any transactions." - Click ![black X Exit](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/black%20X%20Exit.png?width=16&height=15&name=black%20X%20Exit.png) in the upper-right hand of the **Import Vendors Assistant** dialog page when you are finished.
