How to Utilize Borrower Profiles
With this feature, users can view and manage borrowers at a dedicated profile level. Each borrower profile consolidates all associated loans, offering a centralized and intuitive view of the borrower's full relationship history within the system.
Prerequisites
The Borrower Profile feature is currently available exclusively within the Loan Origination product.
Note: Borrower Profile is not yet supported in Loan Servicing.
Using the Borrower Profile Feature
Navigating to Borrower Profiles
To begin, navigate to the Borrowers section within the Loan Origination product. This page presents a searchable table of all borrower records in your system, independent of any individual loan.
From the borrower list, users can:
- Search for a borrower by name or other attributes
- Edit an existing borrower (which opens the borrower’s profile page)
- Send an email directly to the borrower
Inside a Borrower Profile
Clicking into a borrower reveals a dedicated profile page that centralizes all activity and data associated with that borrower.
Key capabilities include:
- Edit Borrower Profile: Update borrower information.
- Note: Changes can be published to all active loans or a specific loan.
- Entity Members Tab (if applicable): Manage associated individuals for borrowers classified as Entities.
- Portfolio Tab: View all loans associated with the borrower.
- Document Repository: Upload and manage borrower-specific documents.
- Notes Section: Add and review internal notes related to the borrower.
Borrower Matching During Loan Actions
To ensure borrower data stays consistent and linked properly, the system includes smart matching at key points in the loan workflow:
- Adding a New Borrower to a Loan: Typeahead search suggests matches. If selected, borrower data is prefilled and linked; otherwise, a new profile is created.
- Converting a Loan Application to a Loan: Suggested borrower matches are displayed to maintain profile continuity.
Troubleshooting
Here are a few common scenarios users may encounter while using the Borrower Profile feature:
- Borrower not appearing in typeahead search: Ensure accurate name input and check for context relevance.
- Duplicate borrower profiles created: Select a suggested match during loan entry or conversion to avoid duplicates.
- Changes not reflected on loans: Ensure the option to publish changes to all associated loans is selected.
- Missing Entity Members tab: Confirm borrower type is set to Entity, not Individual.
