How to use lookup windows?

This article discusses how to use lookup windows.

In many of The Mortgage Office® windows, when you are required to enter an account number or name, the option button appears to the right of the data entry text field. 

To use the LookUp window:

  • Click in the text input field. Once you are in the field, the option button is displayed.
  • Click the option button to open the lookup table.

TIP: To narrow your search, start typing the account or name of the record in the Find box.

  • Sorting the list: 
    • Click on Account to alternate sorting the list by ascending or descending account order.
    • Click on Name to alternate sorting the list by ascending or descending name order.
    • Columns are sorted in ascending order if an up arrow is displayed in the caption bar; a down arrow indicates descending order.
  • Selecting a record:
    • Double-click the row containing the record.

NOTE: Double-clicking on a row, selects the underlying record and closes the Look Up window in a single step.

    • Once the record has been selected, click OK to accept it; click Cancel or press the Esc key to abort.
