CAUTION: ABS RECOMMENDS THAT YOU **CONSULT** WITH YOUR **ACCOUNTANT**, **ATTORNEY** OR **FINANCIAL CONSULTANT** BEFORE MAKING ANY DETERMINATION AS TO YOUR LEGAL REQUIREMENTS TO FILE TAX RETURNS. SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS SUBJECT MATTER, PLEASE READ THE IRS PUBLICATION 1220, WHICH IS AVAILABLE FROM ANY OFFICE OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE. TIPS: - **About the IRS Tax Form Filing Service Offered by ABS.** Filing of 1098, 1099-INT and 1099-MISC information with the IRS is a service we offer our licensed users, which facilitates the IRS required filing of certain data in electronic form. - **Applied Business Software is identified as an "IRS Quality Supplier."** In a letter from the IRS dated January of 1997, Applied Business Software Inc. was identified as an "IRS Quality Supplier". This title is awarded to filers with several consecutive years of error-free returns. NOTES: - If you choose **"Yes,"** use the ![BROWSE button, grey with border](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/BROWSE%20button%2c%20grey%20with%20border.png?width=63&height=30&name=BROWSE%20button%2c%20grey%20with%20border.png) **Choose File/Browse** field to upload a privacy notice from your computer. - The file must be a **PDF**. - Once a privacy notice option has been selected, click ![NEXT in blue box](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/TMO%20APP%20Icons/NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png?width=80&height=31&name=NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png)**Next.** - In the **Company Transmission** window, verify and make any necessary changes to the information in fields. TIPS:  - Make sure to enter your **email address** to receive a notification confirming the number of records received by ABS and a final report detailing the electronic filing with the IRS. - This information is **required** and will be submitted along with the tax forms. - For 1099-INT and 1099-MISC tax forms choose to have, or to not have, the **IRS forward** the **information** to participating **states** by checking or unchecking the ![Blue Check Box\_r](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Blue%20Check%20Box_r.png?width=16&height=15&name=Blue%20Check%20Box_r.png) **Combined Federal/State Filer Program** box. - Click ![NEXT in blue box](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/TMO%20APP%20Icons/NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png?width=80&height=31&name=NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png)**Next.** - In the **Consent & Disclaimer** section, verify and make any necessary changes to the information in fields. - In the **Filing Fees** section, enter the authorized representative's name, email and date of agreement. - **Check** the **box** to agree to the Consent & Disclaimer and Filing Fees. - Click ![NEXT in blue box](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/TMO%20APP%20Icons/NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png?width=80&height=31&name=NEXT%20in%20blue%20box.png)**Next.** - In the **Electronic File Transmission** window, check the box to agree to the terms, if ABS is transmitting the information for you. - Choose one of the following options: - Click **![TRANSMIT with wording, with button border](https://help.themortgageoffice.com/hs-fs/hubfs/TRANSMIT%20with%20wording%2c%20with%20button%20border.png?width=70&height=23&name=TRANSMIT%20with%20wording%2c%20with%20button%20border.png) Transmit** if you wish to file electronically with the IRS using ABS's services. **NOTES:** - **To make corrections after transmitting your data:** - Up until January 31, you can **resend** your data to ABS as often as you need. Each transmission replaces the previous transmission. This allows you to make corrections, additions, and deletions at your convenience.
