How to set up account numbering?
This part of the documentation explains how you can automate the assignment of loan, lender, and vendor account numbers.
To edit the account numbering scheme:
- Click
Options located in the top right of The Mortgage Office®.
- In the left panel of the
Options window, click the Loan Servicing drop-down.
- Click Account Numbering.
- Click the Borrower, Lender, or Vendor tab near the bottom of the form and edit the information below:

Account Numbering Scheme |
Select this option to enable automated account numbers. |
Prefix |
A letter or number that will be appended to the beginning of all new account numbers. |
Auto Number |
Enter the next account number to use. (Maximum of 10 digits) TIP: The maximum size of this field depends on whether you select to use the Prefix or Suffix options. The resulting account number cannot exceed 10 alphanumeric characters. |
Suffix |
A letter or number that will be appended to the end of all new account numbers. |
Zero Fill |
Select this option if you want the account numbers to be left-zero filled. |
Number of Digits |
Enter the number of digits used when zero-filling account numbers. |
Account Preview |
Read-only. It displays the formatting of the next account number using the options specified above. |
- Click
OK to save the changes made or click Cancel to exit without saving.
