How to select and print lender & vendor checks?

This article discusses how to select and print checks for lenders & vendors.

To select and print lender & vendor checks:

  • Click on the running Loan Servicing drop-down in the left panel of The Mortgage Office®.
  • Click Tasks & Reports from the menu located on the left of the window.
  • In the Lender & Vendor Transactions section, click Select & Print Checks. 
  • The following actions are available to be taken in the Select & Print Checks grid:

Click Pay All to select all checks for payment.

TIP: Checks on Hold cannot be selected for payment. To release a check that has been placed on hold, click the action Actions drop-down and click LOCK with button border Release.  

Click to Clear All to un-select all checks.

Click the box under the Pay heading on each row to individually select or un-select checks for printing.

Click to edit the transaction details.

Click Actions to display a list of available actions. The available actions are:

  • Immediate 
  • Release
  • Hold
  • Immediate All
  • Release All
  • Hold All
  • Change Release Date
  • Add Note to Check

Click to mark a check as handwritten. When the dialog window opens, enter the Check Number, the Check Date and click OK OK

Click to open the Print Checks dialog window and review/enter the following information before printing the checks: 

  • Choose the Trust Account to print the checks from. 
  • Choose the check style to print. 
  • Enter the Date to Print on Checks.
    • The system defaults to today’s date.
  • Enter the Starting Check Number, if different than the number assigned by the system.
  • Enter the Number of Check Copies you want to print.
    • If you only want to print copies of the checks, select Print Check Copies Only blank check box.
  • Check blank check box Consolidate Checks by Payee to consolidate multiple checks for the same payee. 

Click the Print button to print the checks. 

Click the Cancel button to cancel the printing. 

If necessary, click the Alignment button to open a dialog window enabling you to adjust vertical and horizontal offsets of the check.

Click the Message button to enter a message you want to print on the check stub.

Click to open the Create ACH File dialog window.

  • Enter the Effective Entry Date.
    • Also known as the settlement date, the effective date is generally the date in which the transfer of monies should take place.
    • When the ACH Operator processes an ACH file, the effective entry date is read, and entries are settled according to that date. 
  • Click OK to continue to the ACH File assistant or Cancel to cancel the transaction. 
  • Next, the ACH File ID dialog window below is displayed to inform you that a properly formatted NACHA file has been created and provide you with the following options:
    • Transmit File. Sends the NACHA file via the Internet to the ACH service provider. The contents of the file are verified to ensure no data was lost during transmission and that the file received is identical to the original.
    • Export File. Exports a properly formatted NACHA file to a location of your choice. You can then deliver the file via e-mail to an ACH service provider of your choice.
    • Transmission Report. You can print or preview a report which details the information contained in an ACH file.
    • Facsimile Transmittal. It is a requirement of some ACH service providers, that you send via fax a signed and dated Facsimile Transmittal report in conjunction with each ACH transmission.
    • Close. Click when you're done to close the window.
