How to select and print checks?

This article discusses how to select and print checks in the Trust Accounts module.

  • Click the users Trust Accounts drop-down in the left panel of The Mortgage Office®.
  • From the list of Trust Accounts that are listed, select the trust account drop-down to select and print checks from. 
  • From that drop-down, click All. 
    • You can also click any one of the client names under All to select and print checks directly from a client's ledger. 
  • In the grid or the Client's ledger click print Print from the options available on the top panel and select select and print checks no border Select & Print Checks. 
  • The following actions are available in the Select & Print Checks grid:

Click Pay All to select all checks for payment.

TIP: Checks on Hold cannot be selected for payment. To release a check that has been placed on hold, click the action Actions drop-down and click LOCK with button border Release

Click to Clear All to un-select all checks.

Click the box under the Pay heading on each row to individually select or un-select checks for printing.

Click Actions to display a list of available actions. The available actions are:

  • Release
  • Hold
  • Release All
  • Hold All

Click this drop-down then choose either Print Register or Print Checks:

  • Print Register takes you to the Trust Account Preview Check Register window, allowing you to print, export or email the register. Click CLOSE black button with no border Close or black X Exit to close the window. 
  • Print Checks opens a dialog window. Enter or review the following information: 
    • The Account drop-down lists the Account the check is being printed from. 
    • The Check Style drop-down lists the check style for the check. 
      • You can change this in Options > Loan Servicing > Checks. 
    • Enter the Date to Print on Checks.
      • The system defaults to today’s date.
    • Enter the Starting Check Number, if different than the number assigned by the system.
    • Enter the Number of Check Copies you want to print.
      • If you only want to print copies of the checks, select Print Check Copies Only blank check box.
    • If necessary, click the Alignment button to open a dialog window enabling you to adjust vertical and horizontal offsets of the check.
    • Click the Message button to enter a message you want to print on the check stub.
  • Once you're ready to print the checks, click Print button Print which opens the Escrow Account Checks window, allowing you to print, export or email the check.
  • Click CLOSE black button with no border Close or black X Exit to close the Escrow Account Checks window. 
export-to-excel Click to Export the contents of the grid to Microsoft Excel.
refresh  Click Refresh to update the contents of the grid.
  • Click black X Exit to close the Select & Print Checks window.
