How to delete a lender history record?

This article discusses how to delete a lender history record.

TIP: For lender-side transactions, you should consider reversing instead of deleting. Reversing leaves an easy-to-follow audit trail, and reversed transactions can themselves be reversed.

TIP: Lender-side transactions are transactions that didn't originate from a borrower payment. For example, "Other Cash Received from Lender".

CAUTION: Deleting a record permanently removes it from the database—you cannot retrieve the information.

Deleting historical transactions may jeopardize the integrity of your data. For example, a lender’s history record is created when a borrower payment is entered. That payment may have created entries for several lenders and vendors. Deleting one lender’s check destroys the balance between the money received and the money paid out.

Additionally, all related transactions will also be deleted or reversed:

  • Any charges paid from this transaction are restored.
  • All related trust account transactions are deleted.
  • All transactions resulting from the same check are deleted.

To delete lender history information:

  • Click on the image-png-Jul-14-2023-12-46-04-6535-AM Loan Servicing drop-down menu in the left panel of The Mortgage Office®.
  • Click All Lenders from the list that drops down.
  • From the All Lenders grid, select the lender you want to modify.

TIP: If the record you want to edit is not visible, use the grid's vertical scroll bar to scroll the contents of the grid up or down, or click FindSearch icon box Find to search for the record by entering your own search criteria. For additional information see How to Use Find and How to Use the Data Grids.

  • Click edit from the options available on top panel or double-click on the record to open it for editing.
    • You can also click the history History icon in the top panel to open the lender history without the lender file.
  • Click history History from the vertical menu on the left.
  • From the grid, select the record you want to delete.
  • Click delete Delete.
  • Click YES button Yes to confirm.
  • In the Confirm Delete dialog window, type the word "DELETE " and click OK OK.
    • Or click CANCEL Cancel to cancel and abort the changes
