How to configure an accounting system chart of accounts?
This article describes how to configure your accounting system chart of accounts with The Mortgage Office®.
The Mortgage Office® integrates with 2 different providers: PeopleSoft and QuickBooks, though we offer 2 different options for integrating with QuickBooks: CSV and IIF.
The Accounting System Integration Configuration Assistant will help you map your Integration accounts to the appropriate categories in The Mortgage Office®.
NOTE: This article assumes that you've already set up the Accounting Integration options and have chosen an Accounting System provider. Click here to read more.
To Configure the Chart of Accounts for PeopleSoft:
- Click on the
Loan Servicing drop-down menu in the left panel of The Mortgage Office®.
- Click Tasks & Reports.
- Under the Accounting System Integration section, click Configure Chart of Accounts.
- Enter the PeopleSoft Business Unit, Operating Unit and ChartField into the top section.
NOTES:
- The PeopleSoft Chart of Accounts (COA) structure uses chartfields (or segments) to record the financial effect (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, etc.) of each transaction.
- A ChartField always represents only one category of data, it stores many values that you use to further categorize that same data. ChartFields are designed to be configured by you to meet your specific requirements.
- Configure the Categories provided by The Mortgage Office® in the left column to match the correlating Account Name in PeopleSoft.
- Click
OK to save your changes or
Cancel to void without saving the changes.
To Configure the Chart of Accounts for QuickBooks CSV:
- Click on the
Loan Servicing drop-down menu in the left panel of The Mortgage Office®.
- Click Tasks & Reports.
- Under the Accounting System Integration section, click Configure Chart of Accounts.
- Configure the Categories provided by The Mortgage Office® in the left column to match the correlating Account Name in QuickBooks.
- Click
OK to save your changes or
Cancel to void without saving the changes.
To Configure the Chart of Accounts for QuickBooks IIF:
- Click on the
Loan Servicing drop-down menu in the left panel of The Mortgage Office®.
- Click Tasks & Reports.
- Under the Accounting System Integration section, click Configure Chart of Accounts.
- Configure the Categories provided by The Mortgage Office® in the left column to match the correlating Account Name in QuickBooks.
- Click
OK to save your changes or
Cancel to void without saving the changes.
